Privacy policy
What we collect when you book a consultation or browse this site, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who we are
Go Curiosity provides personalised tutoring online and in person from Abuja, Nigeria. We are the data controller for the information described here — that means we decide why and how it is used. You can reach us at hello@gocuriosity.onotu.online.
What we collect
When you book a consultation
The booking form asks for the name of the parent or guardian making the booking, an email address and a phone number, and optionally a WhatsApp number. It also asks about the learner: their age, country, school year and curriculum, the subjects they need help with, how they would like to learn, which teacher they would like, and a preferred date and time in your timezone. There is an optional notes box, and we record which meeting platform you chose.
We do not ask for the child's name, and we do not take payment details anywhere on this site. Please avoid putting anything you would rather we did not keep — including a child's full name — in the free-text notes box.
When you browse the site
If, and only if, you agree to analytics cookies, Google Analytics records which pages you visit, roughly where you are (country or city level, derived from your IP address, which Google truncates), your device and browser type, and how far you get through the booking form before finishing or giving up. We never send your name, email address, phone number or the contents of the notes box to Google.
If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google at all — we do not load it in the first place.
Staff accounts
Our own team members have admin accounts holding a name, an email address and a securely hashed password. There are no public sign-ups.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your booking details to arrange and run your consultation, to send you the confirmation and meeting link, and to follow up about it. Where UK or EU data protection law applies, our basis is that this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in running the tutoring service you asked us about.
For analytics, our basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, and withdrawing is as easy as giving it was.
Cookies and similar technology
We store your cookie choice in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again on every visit. That is not shared with anyone and never leaves your device.
If you allow analytics, Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga and similar) to tell repeat visits apart. We have turned off Google Signals and advertising personalisation, so your activity here is not used to build advertising profiles.
Our admin dashboard sets a session cookie when a team member signs in. That is strictly necessary for staff login and is not used on the public site.
Who else sees your data
We keep this list short on purpose. Your information is shared only with service providers who process it on our instructions:
- Resend — delivers your booking confirmation email, and so receives your name, email address and the details of your consultation.
- Google Analytics — only if you consent, and only the browsing and booking-progress information described above.
- Our hosting provider — runs the server and database this site and your booking record live on.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Where your data is processed
We are based in Nigeria, and we work with families in a number of other countries. Some of the providers above process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens for people in the UK or EU, it relies on the safeguards those providers have in place, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records for as long as you are working with us, and for two years after your last contact, so we can pick up where we left off if you come back. Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically. Ask us and we will delete your booking record sooner, unless we have to keep it for accounting or safeguarding reasons.
Children's information
Our booking form is for parents and guardians, not for children to fill in themselves. We deliberately collect as little about a learner as we can — their age, school year, curriculum and the subjects they need — because that is what a teacher needs to prepare. We do not profile children, and we do not use anything you tell us for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or stop using it, or ask for it in a portable format. You can also withdraw consent to analytics at any time. Email hello@gocuriosity.onotu.online and we will respond within one month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to your data protection regulator — the Nigeria Data Protection Commission in Nigeria, or the Information Commissioner's Office if you are in the UK.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will ask for your cookie choice again.
